CarLoader         : CarLoader is a program that keeps track of cars and tracks for Midtown Madness. I suggest getting this program (http://drive.to/carloader). The Taurus is not compatible with CarLoader. It will read the file as "(error) vp95taurussw.ar". To fix it, let it finish loading, then right click "(error) vp95taurussw.ar" and select "Change Name" and change it to "'95 Ford Taurus Wagon". Move the picture that's included in the zip to your CarLoader images folder. To view the picture, right click "'95 Ford Taurus Wagon" and select "View".

Recommended       : 80-100% Physics, anything lower and the car's steering gets too sensitive and it may tip on two wheels.

Notes             : This is one the most seen cars on the road. You can basically see a Taurus in almost any parking lot and it's at almost every corner you turn. They're everywhere! The motors that were available were the standard 3.0L (Vulcan) V6 and the more powerful 3.8L (Essex) V6 (which was a 5.0L V8 less two cylinders). This car has the Essex coupled to the AXOD-E (Ford's code for the 4-speed electronic overdrive transaxle). The Essex is known to blow head gaskets. But hey, at least now it can be driven in a game where mechanical problems don't exist. ;)

This MM re-creation has recessed rear license plate area, 3D exhaust system, 3d roof racks, 3D hood indent, and 3D mirrors. I blew my poly count budget on this car. Since it's so round, I used 1200 polys! The sounds are from the Sable. The drive sounds were mixed with the Mustang sound. I know it might seem annoying and throaty, but it's pretty accurate. The horn is from the '68 Mustang in-game and it works well. The selection screen sound is a clip of "Back in Time" by Huey Lewis & the News. If you have a problem with the sounds, turn off your speakers. The tuning is perfect. It doesn't handle like a boat like my other cars. It's suspension is pretty tight and there's not much bodyroll. Just tap the handbrakes (after getting to above 50 MPH and starting a turn) to get it sliding. SOmetimes you don't even need to hit the handbrake and it'll star sliding! If you start to oversteer, give lots of counter steer to correct it. It takes some getting used to the tuning. It can do 0-60 in about 9 seconds (official time is 9.2 seconds, but I've got 12 seconds unofficially) and a top speed of about 120-130 MPH (I read that it can get upto 132, but if you're pushing the engine really hard). The Taurus (with the exception of the MT5 and SHO models) never came with manual transaxles. So the manual portrayed in the game is just an automatic that you have to manually shift. Although on the real car, it would not be possible to manually shift the automatic since it goes from overdrive (4) to drive (3) to first (1). Each color has it's own license plate (courtesy of the License Plate Shack - http://www.plateshack.com/plateshack.html ). The colors are a good selection. These are colors that are pretty common (except the green which I have to include because it's pretty rare). I had some problems finding the right pics, so it might not look right. I tried the best I could to make everything fit since the Sable and the Taurus has different dashboards. The steering wheel looks like crap. I blame the stupid alpha channels.

Known issues      : There are some weird shading and reflection problems around the car. It might look better with reflections off. The rear wheel shows up thru the fender at a distance using the V-cam. Try and take your screenshots closer to the car. The side marker lights at the rear of the car wiggle when the car's damaged. This is because they're not night textures, but uses the old style HLIGHT grouping.
