CarLoader : CarLoader is a program that keeps track of cars and tracks for Midtown Madness. I suggest getting this program (http://drive.to/carloader). This car might not be compatible with CarLoader. If it isn't follow the following instructions. It will read the file as "(error) vp86escort.ar". To fix it, let it finish loading, then right click "(error) vp86escort.ar" and select "Change Name" and change it to "'86 Ford Escort GBR". Move the picture that's included in the zip to your CarLoader images folder. To view the picture, right click "'86 Ford Escort GBR" and select "View".

Recommended : 90-100% Physics, anything lower and the steering gets too sensitive and it may tip over.

Notes :
***************************************

This is basically another novelty car. It combines the ricer and beater elements in the same vehicle. On this model, we have a wood front bumper, mismatched passenger door and fender replacement, mismatched passenger side headlight and turn signal, wood spoiler, a few decals on the side, a few bumper stickers, electrical "gremlins" in the lights, two low-profile donuts on the front, sagging suspension for the low-rider look, broken side mirror, "uniwiper," clear corner on driver's front turn signal, yellowed driver's headlight, duct tape fixes, rust, paint fade (aka CANCER!), off center steering wheel, and mismatch paint covering a label on the driver's door.

Model : This MM re-creation has a 3D spoiler, 3D Wheels, 3D mirror (or what's left of it), 3D roof trim, 3D bumper trim, 3D wheel arch, and recessed rear license plate. It has around 1200 polys for body_h because of the 3D-ness.

Sounds : The drive sound is from MM2's Mini Cooper Classic. The idle is from a Carmageddon 2 car. It simulates the loud bass from people who turn up their music rather loud. The horn is from the in-game '68 Mustang. If you have a problem with the sounds, turn off your speakers.

Tuning : The tuning is based off the '87 Escort, but with a few fun tweaks. The automatic transaxle has a 1st to 2nd gear shudder. Sometimes it won't even shift at all, but there's a little trick that fixes that. You tap the brakes and it should make it rev high, then the RPMs drops and shudders, then shifts. This only works if the car isn't quite damaged yet. The manual transaxle is the same as the '87, but this has been fixed so that the reverse shift gate is broken so you can shift into reverse after 5th gear. Because you can shift into reverse, it simulates the car as if you blew up the transaxle. Also, the suspension is really weak so it will sway a lot. The steering and braking have also been craptized so it brakes and steers a lot slower than stock. I wouldn't recommend racing this car, but it's fun to watch it roll. Also, it will hit curbs some of the time.

Textures : The textures are pretty much the same as the stock version. But it's missing the grille, has mismatched parts, duct taped stuff, paint fading, rust, and lots of stickers/decals. *Story behind the logic* The left side was damaged, so the door, fender, and headlight was replaced with ones from a parts car that was in much better condition. The grille was broken and wasn't replaced because the parts car's was broken also and more air can cool the engine. The bumper has been replaced with a 2X4 piece of wood because the parts car was damaged on the driver's front and the bumper was no good. Wood is cheap, so that's where the spoiler came from. Also, there's no reflections because of the paint fade and rust.

Dash : For this beater version, I've added an aftermarket tach with the shift point set too high. And you won't see it by the picture of the dash, but on the real car where the gear idicator is in-game, there's a shift light in that spot (it usually comes on too early). So using ricer logic by having two (one on the dash, one on the huge tach) shift lights, you can shift twice as fast! And the steering wheel is "off center" because it's a beater.

Known issues : The shading for the sides will look screwed up, but that's the game's fault. Also, the bass thump doesn't change to music when you switch to the dash view.
